The SITE Building
The SITE building was constructed as a spec building towards having a commercial property to expand a current business or attract an incoming business. WDA made the grant application in cooperation with Washakie County with WDA putting up the cash match from a 1% General Purpose Sales Tax voted on by the electors in Washakie County. No county funds were used for this project. The match leveraged another Business Ready Communities Grant from the Wyoming Business Council in the amount of $618,507.00.
The building was built and became a business incubator for a new business, Chopper CrossFit. Chopper tested their business model and their business grew. It moved when the SITE Building was sold and is now strong enough to begin building their own location in the very near future.
In January of 2018 the SITE Building was sold to become the National Minerals Testing Laboratory not only creating and retaining jobs in Washakie County but becoming a national asset. The proceeds from the sale of the building will be used in part for future economic development projects in Washakie County.
