Excellent Health Care in Washakie County
Washakie County has excellent health care services. Washakie Medical Center, run by Banner Health, offers 24-hour emergency room service, acute care, inpatient and ambulatory surgery, specialty outpatient clinics, cardiac rehabilitation, radiology, birthing suites, and other specialties, including its regionally recognized pediatric and young adult rehabilitation program.
Additional specialized care is available in Casper, Wyoming, or Billings, Montana, or via a short flight to Denver.
Washakie County residents are also served by multiple private practitioners from family medicine to physical therapy and a variety of visiting specialists on a regular schedule.
Chiropractic Care is available as well as acupuncture. Worland is home to two optometric clinics.
Washakie County is served locally by multiple dentists and a traveling orthodontist as well.
Washakie County also is home to Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, a facility owned by Five Star Quality Care. Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is a skilled nursing home center with a full-time staff devoted to caring for each individual to help meet their highest level of independence through therapy, activities, and dietary care. WHCRC also offers specialized care for those with Alzheimer’s or other dementia-related illnesses.
Cloud Peak Counseling Center is a non-profit organization governed by a board of directors and is dedicated to the treatment of mental health and substance abuse issues.
Two of the newest Wyoming healthcare facilities that opened late 2010 are the Worland VA Primary Care Telehealthcare Outreach Clinic and the Worland Crisis Stabilization Center.
