Washakie County School District No.1

Located in north central Wyoming’s Big Horn Basin, Washakie County School District No. 1 is proud of our students, our staff, our system, and our facilities!  1,350 students attend school each day in our  High School, Middle School, and three Elementary Schools.  Each of these buildings, all of which have been renovated or newly constructed within the past six years, provide an atmosphere conducive to learning and growing.

We have a stable staff in a very secure environment.  Our Staff is 100% highly qualified, and with our extremely competitive salary and benefit package we have been able to hire wonderful educators.  All of our schools are fully accredited.

Our students score very high in state standardized testing which demonstrates the effectiveness of  classroom efforts. Students who are more inclined toward hands on learning will find a variety of opportunities through vocational education. Outside of the classroom we provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities in which our students can choose to participate.
